LEAF By The Book

While we await this year's crop of interns, we can't help but reflect fondly upon past groups that have worked alongside us in the Granite State.  Each set of interns has completed a creative project to document their experience.  We've seen photo essays, clay versions of Mount Washington and rap songs.

The LEAF class of 2010 took a literary approach to the project.  They wrote and illustrated a book entitled "New Hampshire Welcomes the Minions" and you can read the virtual version:

It gives us a chuckle every time, especially the references to Wink's baby blues.  Enjoy!

Psst...

They're coming.

Meet Chunyi Jessica, Sharon, Sara (mentor) and Daniela (and don't forget Samantha! She's not pictured), the New Hampshire Chapter's 2012 crop of LEAF interns: Leaders in Environmental Actoin for the Future.

Under Sara's encouraging eyes and The Nature Conservancy's thoughtful guidance, the four girls will hike, boat, shovel, lug and swim their way around the Granite State, experiencing the wonders of a place far from the pavement, yellow cabs, honking horns and hustle bustle of the Big Apple.  They'll encounter firsts: first campfires, first paddle trips and first times staring down an invasive plant - and pulling it mercilessly.

It is here that they'll tell their story along the way, sharing their thoughts, photos and videos in their own words. We hope that you'll follow along and share in their journey.  It's sure to take many twists and turns as they move from the boroughs to the birches!
